2011 Event Schedule

Walk to Remember will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Bandshell at the Alberta Legislature Grounds in Edmonton, Alberta. The Bandshell is located at the south-east end of the grounds. View a map of the Grounds and Parking.

Registration & Activities

Registration & activities begin at noon at the Bandshell.

Add your story to the storyline, nibble a cookie, sip hot chocolate, donate a teddy bear, get your balloon and write a message on the tag, and if you wish, submit your baby's name for the celebration ceremony.

The Route

Walk to Remember will take place at the beautiful Legislature grounds amidst fall leaves, fresh air and gentle, meandering paths that are easily navigable for both strollers and wheelchairs. The designated route is approximately 1.8 km long and connects to an alternate, shorter path. Attendees may choose the path and distance with which they are most comfortable.

Post-Walk Ceremony

A non-denominational ceremony will begin afterwards at the Bandshell and will include a reading of the names of babies in whose memory attendees are walking, as well as a balloon release for "honouring little lives lost."
